Stamford has been selected to be part of a special program called Solarize Connecticutsm. This city and state supported initiative offers solar energy at discounted pricing to homeowners, making it easier and more affordable for homeowners to go solar.
What Is Solarize Connecticut?
Solarize is a unique program offered by the Clean Energy Financing and Investment Authority (CEFIA) in partnership with SmartPower that increases residential solar through a proven formula. It leverages group discounts through a pre-selected installer to reduce the cost of solar; it relies on the community to provide outreach and education to create awareness and build interest, and it promotes a clear end date that motivates residents to act. Stamford city employees interviewed installers and have formally selected Astrum Solar, Encon Solar and Renewable Resources Inc. to be the solar installers for our four towns.
Solarize Stamford includes:
- DISCOUNT PRICE: All Solarize installations in Stamford will be done by competitively bid pre-selected installers, who are offering residents significant group discount rates in exchange for the outreach provided by the towns.
- FINANCING: There are a variety of flexible financing options offered by CEFIA. That make solar more affordable than ever, including leasing and loan options that require NO MONEY DOWN. All financing options allow homeowners to immediately lower their monthly electric bills. Your installer can review these options with you.
- END DATE: Your Solarize program has an end date, April 15, 2014. All contracts must be signed by that date in order to qualify for the discounted cost.
As an added bonus, the city will receive points for each solar installation, which can result in a free solar installation for a city building.
